Normally, a small screen project isn’t something we would report on. However, this particular project is about the movies. Deadline reports that Sienna Miller and Toby Jones will star in the BBC 2 drama, The Girl.
The Girl will look at the intense working relationship between Alfred Hitchcock (Jones) and actress Tippi Herden (Miller) during the making of Hitchcock’s pessimistic and excellent The Birds. According to the history books, Hitchcock wanted Herden to become the ultimate Hitchcock Blonde and his lover. If you’ve seen Vertigo, just imagine Hitchcock as the Jimmy Stewart character and Herden as Kim Novak’s character.
Tippi Herden and Hitchcock expert Donald Spoto will serve as consulats to the project.
